Award-winning property development and investment company MRP has announced the launch of its new purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme The Place in Nottingham.
The Place will deliver 409 units with amenities including a gym, private dining room, study, breakout spaces and a sky lounge on the roof, offering panoramic views over the city.

Howden Group company and education solutions provider – Endsleigh Insurance – has announced that it has signed a first of its kind deal with student accommodation provider Unite Students. The partnership is set to provide new 24/7 wellbeing and mental health services to 70,000 students, particularly for those residing in Unite Students’ schemes.
Designed to complement and support the operators existing wellbeing support, Endsleigh’s 24/7 Student Wellbeing Helpline and Digital Therapy provides students with unlimited access to a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited, 24/7 counselling helpline. It also has an interpretation service in over 240 languages and online support resources including cognitive behavioural therapy.
The Unite Students 2023 Applicant Index reveals one in three university applicants, a total of almost 154,000, missed lessons at schools, colleges and sixth-forms in the last two years due to their mental health. Non-profit organisation The Class Foundation and real estate company Savills’ new European PBSA Investment Barometer Report reveals that 93,600 beds, equating to €12.3bn in investments, can be expected over the next two to five years. This will be led by Spain, Italy, Germany, France and Portugal.
Published during The Class Foundation Conference in Barcelona today (9 November 2023), the report includes findings from a survey of 11 European investors and operators who collectively manage PBSA assets worth €17.8bn, totalling 122,500 PBSA beds.
According to Savills, there are currently 1.94 million PBSA beds (public and private) across Europe, with an estimated total value of c.€286bn. Respondents to the survey expect to see significant growth in the number of private beds being added to the European market, with a further 93.6k expected over the next few years. This equates to an additional investment of €12.3bn in the delivery of new supply …
