Coventry Allied Carpets building to be transformed into student accommodation
The former Allied Carpets store, situated in Corporation Street and Smithford Way, will be turned into a huge block of students flats.
The Telegraph announced earlier today that the plans were given the go-ahead from councillors, after the building lay empty for more than five years.
Under the new plans, the drab exterior will be given a new lease of life and covered in orange, grey and white cladding and the ground floor will be fully glazed.
