Old Bristol police base may be bulldozed for student flats

A street in Bristol that has been described as “one of the city’s worst planning disasters” looks as though it could be in line for a major overhaul.

A plan has been put together to demolish the New Bridewell Police Station in Nelson Street and build a landmark block of student flats in its place, complete with shops, bars and restaurants.

The scheme will be considered by councillors at a committee meeting tomorrow and officers are recommending the scheme is given the go-ahead, along with a number of conditions …
