English Heritage opposing plans to turn Liverpool Bridewell into student flats

National heritage watchdogs are opposing a Liverpool developer’s plan to turn one of the country’s finest Victorian jails into student flats.

They said they fear proposed changes to the Bridewell in Cheapside could ruin its historical features and undermine its Grade II* listed status.
