New Lancaster student housing gets go-ahead

A new 79-bed student block in Lancaster featuring “a new concept in interactive living” has been given planning approval.

The five-storey apartment building will be built on what is currently a private short stay car park in Damside Street, and is expected to be available for rent by next year’s student intake.

Councillors approved the plans at a planning meeting at Lancaster Town Hall on Monday, after applicant Andrew Stanyon withdrew a previous application for a 123-bed block with a restaurant/bar on the ground floor last year …
