Towering Triangle Student Apartment Plans For Portsmouth

Scott Brownrigg Architects has been working on what could be the tallest building in the south-east of England, a new 42-floor tower for French developer Bouygues which could have a height of 130 metres.

The project is set to replace Brunel House, a decrepit sixties building that stands overlooking the Hard only a few metres from the historic HMS Warrior and Portsmouth Harbour railway station. The Spinnaker Tower is a mere 200 metres to the south east of the site and the completed 1 Gunwharf Quays lays a similar distance to the south.

Although it appears as virtually a single triangle (hence the nickname The Triangle) from some angles, the building splits into two wings on its lower floors establishing a V shaped footprint with a public piazza sheltered between the wings …
