Bouygues wins £175m contract to improve Hatfield campus

The University of Hertfordshire has named Bouygues joint venture Uliving as its preferred development partner to build student accommodation on campus.

Uliving is made up of Bouygues Development and not-for-profit accommodation operator, Derwent Living.Uliving will take over management of the existing 502 residences on the College Lane campus in Hatfield and build a further 2,511 rooms.

The campus upgrade will also provide new sports pitches, a campus gym, informal learning and social spaces and a new dedicated bus route. The £175m scheme will be delivered in three phases. The first phase is set to start in May 2013 and complete in September 2014, in time for the new academic year.
