The Europa House building, the former European HQ of Pall, with view over the iconic sail-shaped Spinnaker Tower could soon provide accommodation for over 260 University of Portsmouth students.

Terry Murch, director of Exeter-based Stuart Properties Ltd which is putting together a plan to transform the 12-storey building, said: ”We are pleased to have put together plans to transform Europa House bringing it back into economic use, while offering students some of the best views in Portsmouth, looking out over Gunwharf Quays, Spinnaker Tower and the historic dockyard.”

More than 560 students will get the chance to live on campus when new halls of residence open in time for next September’s intake at the University of Hull.

Subsidiary landlords for one of Lincoln’s student accommodation giants, ClubEasy, have fallen into administration after going bankrupt, affecting more than 170 students.

Hull-based Acepoint Ltd had been reporting losses in their accounts for five years from 2008 to 2013. The company, which leases properties in Hull and Loughborough, finally went into administration on 16 January, according to the Companies House database.
