300 Staffordshire University student flats to be built at former Irish club in Stoke

Students will be moving into 300 new flats if plans for an arson-hit former social club are approved.

Millhouse Securities wants to develop a five-storey building in North Street, Stoke, as Staffordshire University anticipates a rise in demand for accommodation. Now neighbours have welcomed plans to knock-down the ‘eyesore’ Irish Centre, which has become a magnet for vandals and fly-tippers since it closed seven years ago.
