New Christ Church uni accommodation plans unveiled to the public – Canterbury

Plans for a £10 million, 442-room university halls of residence have been unveiled at Canterbury Christ Church University.

The new halls, in Rhodaus Town, will be built behind the old Peugeot showroom and have been broadly backed by residents group the Oaten Hill District Society – with some reservations over the design and materials – but less so by Lib Dem ward councillor Nick Eden Green.

Phase one of the development by Petrol Limited – 193 rooms – is due to be completed by summer 2015, ready for the new intake of students that September.
