Arsenal face extra-time in bid to build student flats tower
THE battle over Arsenal’s plans to build a 25-storey tower block of student flats will go into extra-time after a High Court judge quashed planning permission for the controversial project.
In order to go ahead, the proposal will now have to be reheard before a government planning inspector, following Islington Council’s successful legal challenge.
Town Hall planners had initially refused permission for the 78-metre block for 450 students next to the Emirates Stadium in Hornsey Road, in September 2011. But the club appealed to a planning inspector who gave it the green light in October last year …
