Plan to demolish derelict Plymouth pub to build student flats re-submitted to council
Proposals to demolish a derelict pub and replace it with a 12-storey block of student flats have been re-submitted to city planners.
Last year a scheme to bulldoze the Good Companions pub in Mayflower Street and construct 177 student flats was withdrawn in the face of local opposition.
But now Pillar Land Securities has submitted an amended plan, which would see the old pub demolished to make way for a 12-storey building containing 199 student bedrooms along with restaurants, cafes, bars and shops …
