Students flats plan is backed at former HQ in Leicester

Councillors have approved plans to build student flats on the site of a former travel firm HQ.

Leicester City Council planning committee approved the scheme to allow lettings agency Parmar Estates to demolish the Page and Moy office complex, in London Road, Leicester, and replace it with flats for 79 students.

The plans for the site, which has been empty since 2006 when the firm moved to Market Harborough, were passed on Tuesday.
