Banking group Santander backs £3.9m Liverpool student accommodation project

Santander Corporate Banking has funded £2.3m of a £3.9m student accommodation and retail scheme in the city’s Myrtle Street.

The four-storey Chatham Lodge project will offer 50 luxury en- suite bedrooms for post- graduate, overseas and mature students and is being built by Liverpool Edge, owned by Alan Beer and David Brewitt, who owns and designed the award-winning Hope Street Hotel.

He said: “The Myrtle Street development is a unique product in the student accommodation market offering the sort of design and specification you associate more with boutique hotels than student living.” …
