New city students await place in halls – Aberdeen

Almost 100 new students at Aberdeen University are sleeping in a hotel because there is not enough accommodation available for them.

Eighty freshers and other students new to the university, who were expecting to stay in halls of residences, are staying in the Premier Inn in the city’s West North Street.

Aberdeen University Students’ Association president Robin Parker said they had been forced to move into temporary accommodation indefinitely and that the situation would be only eased as spaces became free in halls when some students dropped out …
