Landlords hit out at student housing plans – Newcastle
The National Landlords Association has struck out at Newcastle Council for investing in accommodation for 6,000 students instead of family housing. In 2007 the council invited developers to submit plans for student halls on any of 50 sites it considered suitable across the city. The plan was designed to deal with a rapid expansion of the student population.
