Landlords association condemns plans for Carlisle student village

The National Landlords Association in Cumbria has condemned plans for a multi-million pound student village saying there aren’t enough students to fill it and the market is already saturated.

Joint chairs of the Cumbrian branch of the association, Mike Marrs and Jonty Rostron, claim the plans – which would provide 205 student rooms and 40 craft workshops in Carlisle – place too high a concentration of students in one place, leading to noise, vandalism, drugs, litter and parking problems.
