Modular student accommodation swings into place – London
Mansell has used the Verteka PSF modular system to create lift and stair cores at a student accommodation development it is constructing in London SE1 for the UNITE Group, the UK’s leading developer and manager of student accommodation.
The modular system has been installed at a six-storey block providing 102 study bedrooms. Verteka’s PSF system is manufactured off site and is supplied and installed by the RC frame specialist contractor Atlantic Contracts Ltd using a tower crane. The system is then filled with self-compacting concrete to simplify the construction process further. Built-in platforms remove the need for scaffolding and reduce the amount of work at height.
