Cricket club expansion plan provokes a mixed response – Bristol

Neighbours of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club flocked to an exhibition to offer their views on plans to expand the County Ground.

 

Hundreds of people attended the exhibition at the ground in Bishopston yesterday as Gloucestershire played Glamorgan in a County Championship match.

 

As reported in the Post on Tuesday, the club has unveiled £10-million plans for a new 20,000-seater ground in Nevil Road. The club says it needs to expand the County Ground to continue to host one-day international matches beyond 2011, but needs to include 550 new student flats off of Ashley Down Road to help cover the cost of the project …
